I never knew what true love looked like, my father is a narcissistic abuser. My first ever relationship made me relive the horrors and traumas I endured growing up, I was 16. At 17 I met my ex-fiance and we were engaged by 18, she was also a narcissistic abuser who didn't show it until then very end. I thought at love hurt, no matter the price you had paid to be with someone. I’m now 24 have have been single for 3 years after multiple sexual assaults from 12-21 on top of those two abusive relationships. Now I know that love doesn't hurt because the love I show myself is the love I deserve from another human being. It gets better and I chose to end the abuse with me. Lily’s story has touched me in ways I never thought possible and has reminded me how strong I am to end the cycle with myself. Never again will I go through abuse at the hands of someone I love.
